Mark Kuroski's Action Hub

This is the Lorax, he speaks for the trees.

My name is Mark Kuroski, and the Lorax has been one of my heroes since childhood.  When I first read this story I wanted to be like the Lorax and to spread his message to all the Once-lers of the world.  Now, I have the perfect opportunity to do just that...but I need your help.

DeforestAction: Project Borneo 3D is looking for twelve action agents to spend 100 days in the rainforest of Borneo to network with thousands of youth across the planet.  The entire project will be documented and made into a 3D action movie.  These action agents will be rescuing and rehabilitating endangered orangutans, investigating areas of the rainforest suspected of illegal logging, planting trees to repopulate the rainforest, and working with the local communities to create a new economical and sustainable livelihood based on conservationist Dr. Willie Smits' blueprint which you can learn more about by watching his inspiring TED Talk here.   sdf T  sdfsd

"UNLESS someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better.  It's not."

The forests of the world are disappearing fast.  If we don't do something soon they will all be destroyed, taking away the habitat of orangutans and other wildlife.  In Indonesia alone, a forest the size of 300 footballs fields is being cut down every hour.

You can help by joining my DeforestAction network and by donating to sponsor land!  My goal is to raise $5,000 dollars and every donation helps.  There are hundreds of people around the globe organizing to help save Borneo's rainforest, and with all of us working together I know we will make a very real and lasting difference.  Also, please sign up to follow the project so you can show your support and see all the exciting things that are happening with DeforestAction: Project Borneo 3D.  You can donate below to sponsor land to be redeveloped as part of this project, and join my network of supporters through a quick web site signup.

"Grow a forest.  Protect it from axes that hack.  Then the Lorax and all of his friends may come back."

Thank you for making this life changing opportunity a possibility for me.  Together, we can, and will, make a difference.

How You Can Help!

You can help by joining my DeforestAction Network and by donating to support the project! As an applicant to the 3D Movie project, I have a special opportunity: I need to recruit 500 supporters and help raise $5,000 to earn an opportunity to visit Borneo and be part of the DeforestAction project in person! You can keep track of my progress below:

What is DeforestAction?

Youth across the planet have united to create DeforestAction - a global collaborative project to halt the destruction of rainforests, create a permanent home for orang-utans, and save the planet. From schools, homes and communities across the world, this project is one of the most important of our time, driven by youth for the future of the world.

The forests of the world are disappearing fast. If we don't do something soon, they will all be destroyed, taking away the habitat of orangutans and other wildlife. In Indonesia alone, a forest the size of 300 football fields is being cut down every hour - to make way for palm oil plantations.

Fundraising

I've helped raise $1,600 of my $5,000 goal!

Your money will support the reforestation and protection of a new area of degraded rainforest Willie Smits has secured from the Bupati of Sintang, West Kalimantan for DeforestAction. The funding will be used to secure and sustain the land in partnership with the local community for 99 years, the length of the land use agreement.
