Fabrice Marre's Action Hub

Fabrice Marre

Hi beautiful people,

My name is Fabrice Marre, from France. I would call myself a creative environmental nerd passionate about earh-observation technologies to make our planet a better place.

I entered the DeforestAction: Project Borneo 3D contest to have a chance to spend 100 days in Borneo to be part of a 3D Action Movie - helping to save endangered rainforest and orangutans, create awareness about deforestation, and provide a sustainable livelihood for the local community.

I have the pleasure and honor to be selected as one of the action agents to go and work with acclaimed conservationist Dr. Willie Smits and Orangutan Outreachand 15 other fantastic Deforestaction agents in Borneo and be featured in a 3D movie!!
It's a priviledge to have been chosen to represent all the other action agents and I'm so looking forward to tell you all about our adventures, challenges and work with the local communities.
Through this mission, we will implement this fantastic project in the field and support the actions of all the volunteers behind the project. We will showcase to the word that community capacity-building and community empowerment can promote economic development while conserving the natural environment. Real action and education of the young generation is the key to our future, that's what this project is all about!

You can donate below to sponsor land to be redeveloped as part of this project, and join my network of supporters through a quick web site signup.

Thank you for your help and support, there is still hope.

What is DeforestAction?

Youth across the planet have united to create DeforestAction - a global collaborative project to halt the destruction of rainforests, create a permanent home for orang-utans, and save the planet. From schools, homes and communities across the world, this project is one of the most important of our time, driven by youth for the future of the world.

The forests of the world are disappearing fast. If we don't do something soon, they will all be destroyed, taking away the habitat of orangutans and other wildlife. In Indonesia alone, a forest the size of 300 football fields is being cut down every hour - to make way for palm oil plantations.

I've helped raise $636 of my $5,000 goal!

Your money will support the reforestation and protection of a new area of degraded rainforest Willie Smits has secured from the Bupati of Sintang, West Kalimantan for DeforestAction. The funding will be used to secure and sustain the land in partnership with the local community for 99 years, the length of the land use agreement.
